Sorry folks, but it looks like my fat-bellies couldn't pull it off against the High Elves wielded by the Pasadena Game Empire league Champion Michael Grumbine. More specifically to the pair of mages he artfully danced about the field while shredding me with Shadow magic powered by the Book of Hoeth, Banner of Sorcery, and Annulian Crystal (Believe it or not, it wasn't Pit of Shades that was the complete undoing of me).
I'll fill in details later, or in person, and I should be receiving pictures of the game (with great battle fields, and 2 nicely painted armies, they should look pretty good).
However, and despite my opponent's good nature, friendly attitude, and great sportsmanship, those were, without a doubt, the single two least enjoyable games I have ever played. I'll leave it at that, and spare you the vitriol. I doubt I'll be in the mood to play for awhile (sorry to those in my division), but all of a sudden I am INTENSELY looking forward to a league with no Irresistible Force.
Battling the Pasadena Champ... Hoeth happens...

Ugh, sorry Jeremy. There's a reason we play ban the Book of Hoeth.
I'm glad you're looking forward to playing in a league with no irresistible force, though!
Definitely looking forward to hearing the story.

Jeremy,
I am assuming that it was repeated casting of Mindrazar that ripped you apart? I must admit that I too am enjoying the no-irresistable force league myself.

actually, it was unstoppable, remains-in-play withing and enfeeble that did me in. He was regularly getting enough dice to cast both of those, miasma, and at least one other spell, and there was no guarantee that I would be allowed (not able, but ALLOWED) to stop any of them. So, not only was I unable to stop his spells in his phase, but I had to dedicate any dice that I got in MY magic phase to dispelling those spells. Heck, he only cast mindrazor once out of both games.
