The next league will be 2200 points. Every army is allowed two lores for the entirety of the league. The winner of the Basement Bowl has Shallya's Blessing and is allowed three lores.
Models that are not completely painted will be unable to earn victory points for the 'The King is Dead', 'Seized Standards', and 'Underdog Challenge'. (See page 143)
We will be re-introducing buildings, buildings will have size limits, though. 10 Infantry or Warbeasts per floor, or 3 Monstrous Infantry or Swarms per floor.
The Winds of Magic blow feebly this league, double 6's do not give you irresistible force. Full details in the rule pack.
The deployment zone chart will look like this:
1 - diagonal deplyoment
2-3 - Battle Lines
3-4 - Blood & Glory
6 - battle for the pass-style lengthwise deployment
There will be no scenarios.
We are replacing scenarios with Gambits.
At the beginning of the league there will be a list of 8 Gambits. Players will use a Gambit in each game, they can never use the same Gambit twice. Gambits are like scenarios except that the victory points are earned at the BEGINNING of the game.
The Gambits are:
1. The With Hunter's Opening
For each level 1 Wizard or Runesmith fielded = 25pts
For each level 2 Wizard fielded = 50pts (This includes any character or unit with a bound spell, such as Warrior Priests)
For each Level 3 Wizard or RuneLord fielded = 75pts
For each level 4 Wizard fielded = 100pts
For each loremaster fielded = 50pts
For each level 4 with Life = 25pts
For each level 4 with Shadow= 25pts
For each level 4 with Death = 25pts
For each level 4 with Curse of the Horned Rat = 25pts
2. The King's Game
For each lord fielded = 50pts
For each hero fielded = 25pts (For Bretonnians this only starts after the first hero since a BSB is required. The Tomb kings get this exception if they bring the general or Heirophant as a hero)
For each lord special character = 50pts
For each hero special character = 25pts
3. The Miraglian Defense
For each war machine/chariot/unit of chariots fielded = 50pts (This also includes the Mortis Engine, the Coven throne, the Empire wizard wagons, Plague Furnace, Screaming Bell, etc)
4. The Runesmith's Folly
For fielding 75pts or less of magic items = 50pts
For fielding 100pts or less of magic items = 75pts
For fielding 125pts or less of magic items = 100pts
For fielding 150pts or less of magic items = 125pts
For fielding 151pts or more of magic items = 150pts
This includes any type of chaos gifts, daemonic gifts, virtues, vampiric gifts, and ogre big name
5. The Chracian Variation
For each special choice fielded = 50pts
For each rare choice fielded = 50pts
For fielding a double special = 25pts
For fielding a double rare = 25pts
6. The Throgg Defense
For each unit of monstrous cavalry fielded = 50pts
For each monster fielded = 75pts (This includes daemon princes, gryphons, hippogryphs, etc. If the monster is a mount this penalty still applies.)
7. The Classical Sylvanian
For each infantry unit 30-39 = 50pts
For each infantry unit 40-49 = 75pts
For each infantry unit 50+ = 100pts
For each monstrous infantry unit 10 or more = 50pts
For each monstrous infantry unit 15 or more = 75pts
For each cavalry unit over 10 = 25pts
For each cavlary unit over 15 = 50pts
8. The Khornate Attack
For every three missile troops = 50pts
For each missile troop over 15 = 25pts
For each missile troop over 20 = 50pts
For each missile troop over 30 = 75pts
How it works:
Each player will select, before the game, a gambit. They will create their army with that gambit in mind, and perhaps considering which gambit their opponent might bring. When the two players meet to play they will each announce the gambit they are using and immediately calculate victory points from those gambits. The gambit applies to BOTH PLAYERS.
For example: I played Patrick today. He played Dwarves, cunning as I am, I would have taken the Miraglian Defense, which would have immediately earned me 250 victory points (war machines are worth 50 vps). However, I would have given up 100 Victory points because I brought two Mortis Engines). Patrick would have consulted his Book of Grudges and known that Vampires use lots of magic, so he probably would have used the Witch Hunter's Opening, which means he would have given up 75 points for having a Runelord, but would have earned 175 victory points since I brought 4 wizards, one of whom was a level 4.
The totals:
Patrick has earned 275 victory points before the game begins. I have earned 325. Patrick's in a bit of a hole, and had better start shooting stuff!
COMP
In the playoffs for every 'No' comp score you were given you will automatically give you opponent 25 VPs. So if you go into the playoffs with two Comp NOs, then your opponents in the playoffs will always have +50VPs. Comp will continue to be scored throughout the playoffs.
Comp 1.

I was hoping to join in this run of league. I would be bringing Vampire Counts. We talked a moth or so ago. It sound like a lot of fun.
Lore: Vampires and Shadow
also Is 2200 Correct?

This time the Southlands will rise...and we want blood!
I'll be going with Heavens and Beast.
I assume that if we want to be able to take a Skink Priest, that we then much choose Heavens as a lore.

I'll be trying to run my new Orcs and Goblins, with of course both big and little waaaagh.
If I can't get them ready in time, I'll fall back to lizardmen, with heavens and metal.

Questions
- Are required lore for a character counting towards lore choice again? ie- Skink Priest must take Heavens therefore as a Lizardman player I must take Heavens as one of my lore choices?
- If I do not choose Heavens as Lore choice can I still field a Skink Priest but just not cast any spells?
- Is Tetto Eko allowed again?
- Is Cupped Hands Allowed again?
- Does a roll of double 6s still count as an auto-cast just not irresistible force therefore making the spell dispelable? (<-- just made that word up)

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes, Teclis is allowed too!
5. No,a roll of double 6's does not count as an auto-cast. If the casting value is 13, and you roll a double 6 with no modifiers, the spell fails. The good news is you don't miscast. If you roll a double 6 and the spell DOES go off (has not been dispelled), you roll on the miscast table.
Tom,
Yes, special characters are allowed.

Lore choices are Metal and Tzeentch
Plus this forces me to get off my ass and get them painted.

haha! I saw that coming a mile away!
But I have to ask at 2200 points there is no way to take any of the Daemon Lords so by default they are out. But why the heroes they are all pretty much 1 trick ponies when compared to other Special Characters.

2. They are cheap for what they do.
3. Because daemons are good enough already. The special characters make a broken army even more nasty. Special characters from the other books for the most part are weak compared to what you can build.

All kidding aside. I do find this 7ed hold over idealism that daemons are broken a little silly. They are tough yes I will grant you that, but they certainly are beatable. Ask all the Ogre players that beat them down solidly in the last league. The High Elves, yes High Elves, and Empire that beat them down in the last tournament, all while using daemon special characters. An army is only as good as its player.
I don't care one way or the other I just want to play, it would be nice to field the army I built for once
Bama - Just for fun how about a friendly challenge?
You and me 2200 points of Daemons vs. what ever you are playing in the league. Other than allowing all special characters we play within the confines of the new league rules.
