Bob I was hoping you could post a tutorial on how to do the slime that you have done on the bases of your skaven as it looks awesome and I'm looking for a similar efect albeit with a different color.

Thanks!
Please do not hesitate to get a hold of me (email, PM on the forums, etc.) in order to play a game. I'm up for any Warhammer 40k game.

The slime works best if you have some sort of land feature to add contrast.  In this case I have bricks acting as a sort of side walk.  I roll little balls of green stuff and when they've dried I slice them in half and glue them to the flat low area that will act as the swamp slime.  The half domes of green stuff will look like bubbles hopefully.  The area that's going to be the slime is shiny because I've painted over it with 'Ard Coat (clear varnish).  The clear varnish goes on thick and smooths the surface and connects the green stuff bubbles to the slime, making it look like smooth liquid.

I paint the slime surface with Desert Yellow.  The Color I use to paint slime is transparent, so the undercoat you use is very important.  If you paint it over black it turns super dark, white will give it a neon green look.  An off yellow will make it a bit more swampy.

And then I paint over the slime surface with Tamiya Clear Green.  For a little more rotten feel I sometimes mix in Tamiya clear yellow.

Tamiya Clear colors have a thick consistency, kind of like cough syrup.  Diluting it a little isn't a bad idea.  Unfortunately Tamiya isn't available at GE, but you can pick up the full range of clear colors from Discount Hobby Warehouse a few blocks down from GE.
