July 20th, I (Bob) will be grabbing a table on Friday night and doing some painting.  Anyone who would like to come by and trade tips or techniques is very welcome.

Bring your brushes, your models and your paints, and we can hang out and get some painting done.

Starters can learn some techniques and pick up some pointers.
Intermediate painters can get some critiques and discuss ways to improve.
Accomplished painters can show me up.

I'll try to run the jamboree at least once a month.

Painting will begin at 6pm and continue until 10ish.

Painting Jamboree
July 20th
6pm.

Bring your own supplies.
You may call me Bob.
Comp 1.

Bob I am interested in this as well in regards to how do you paint a ghost, banshee, armored dead dude to look etheral. I will try to be there but could you email what you do to get that affect you have with your own undead banchees.

Thanks,

Funny you should mention that, I'd just asked Bob a similar question a couple days ago. I'm going to try to make it on Friday to get some help in this department.

I'll be there Bob.  I'm looking to learn the basics as I paint my dwarven thunderers.  Yes, more dwarven thunderers.   Don't want the dang not painted penalty.

I'll be showing up as well.  Yes, to paint.  Of course, I plan on showing up early and having a beer or two over at players to put me in the correct mind set for painting.

And as a followup to last night:

What I learned at the Painting Jamboree:
1) Off-white is a valuable color to have!
2) Bob uses his shirt to wipe his paintbrushes clean
3) More than 3-4 people wanted to learn about painting so we'll need more room next time

I'm looking forward to the "Painting Death March" next month!

Thanks again Bob for doing the jamboree.   It actually got me to paint for 3 hours and not be bored.    I am also looking forward to the August Painting Death March.
